Manchester, UK (April 9, 2025) — Newmark announces it has hired Chris Balshaw to establish its cost consultancy and management services capabilities within the Building Consultancy practice in the UK. In his role, Chris will provide cost management, financial oversight and procurement advice for construction and real estate projects, ensuring developments are cost-effective and in compliance with contractual requirements across the UK, with an initial focus on the Northwest.

With over 35 years of experience, Chris’ expertise in cost management, project oversight and strategic consultancy position him as a leader in delivering value-driven solutions within the built environment, with a particularly strong track record in healthcare and residential . Before joining Newmark, Chris was a Partner at Todd & Ledson, where he played a key role in leading a 25-strong team and delivering cost consultancy solutions. Following Todd & Ledson’s acquisition by Rider Levett Bucknall UK (“RLB”) in 2019, Chris was integral to the firm’s transition and integration, leading on healthcare in the Northwest and broadening its sector service capabilities nationally.
