Bob’s Discount Furniture will open its first store on Long Island at 1999 Broad Hollow Road in Farmingdale, according to Newmark Executive Managing Director Brian D. Lee. Lee represented landlord MCS Realty LLC, along with Newmark Principal Jack O’Connor, in the long-term lease for 36,023 square feet. Fred Feinblum of Feinblum Real Estate represented Bob’s Discount Furniture.
“There was very little down time,” stated Lee. “This particular space was in very high demand as a number of furniture retailers were looking at the site.” According to Lee, negotiations commenced prior to the end of the existing lease obligation. Huffman Koos, the bankrupt furniture retailer, ceased operations out of that site.
“We are very pleased to have consummated this transaction and welcome Bob’s to the Long Island marketplace into an MCS portfolio property,” said Lee.
