Newmark announces it has been named the exclusive leasing agent for the Taystee Lab Building in New York City.
Newmark Executive Managing Director Jonathan Fanuzzi, Senior Managing Director Jordan Gosin, Director Chris Ventura and Associate Leo Koné will represent property owners Janus Property Company and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
“The Taystee Lab Building is the only new, ground-up, purpose-built commercial life sciences building in New York with multiple occupancy options,” said Fanuzzi. “The Janus Property Company and J.P. Morgan Asset Management have custom-designed and expertly engineered this building to offer maximum flexibility and efficiency in layout.”
The 350,000-square-foot, 11-story LEED Silver-certified life science property offers state-of-the-art features specifically tailored and built for the life sciences, material sciences, climate sciences and engineering communities. The building features 100% floor-to-ceiling curtain wall glazing that provides stunning views on three sides, while laboratories are shielded from all but northern sun exposure. Additional amenities include an indoor bike room, private outdoor terraces on half the floors, and two lobbies.
The property is in Innovation Triangle-West Harlem, a growing, world-class life sciences ecosystem surpassing most other areas in New York City. The Triangle connects the Janus Property Company Factory District with Columbia University and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center/City College of New York campuses.
The Triangle already contains prominent for-profit and not-for-profit institutions such as the New York Structural Biology Center, Volastra Therapeutics, BioBus, Quicksilver Therapeutics, Renal Research Institute, Hypothekids, Harlem Biospace, Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals, Jerome L. Greene Science Center/Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, Fu School of Engineering and soon, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. It is also a short walk or Express Bus ride to MetroNorth on Park Avenue.
