Newmark Arranges 24,012-SF Lease for Bento, Inc. Commissary at 900 West Cermak Road in Chicago

Newmark announces it has arranged a new, 24,012-square-foot lease for Bento Inc., a new sushi manufacturing commissary, at 900 West Cermak Road in Chicago. Newmark Executive Managing Director Stephen Levine and Senior Managing Director Corey Chase represented the tenant in lease negotiations.

Bento Inc. is a part of the Wonderfield Group—and will occupy more than half of the 40,000-square-foot property. The property, which was previously occupied by Foxtrot, will accommodate the midwestern expansion for the brand that was founded in Toronto, Canada in 1996 and has since expanded to the United States.

“This location provides Bento with a true turnkey solution for its expansion in an incredibly tight market for commissary kitchens and cold storage options in the Chicago Metro area—offering high-quality infrastructure within a well-connected urban location,” said Chase. “Chicago’s strong distribution network and access to talent make it an ideal market for Bento’s continued U.S. growth.”

900 West Cermak Road benefits from convenient access to major thoroughfares, including Interstate 90 and Interstate 94, proximity to downtown Chicago and being accessible via public transportation. In 2021, the now-former tenant extensively renovated the facility to accommodate use as their commissary kitchen, delivering ready-built spaces with freezers, coolers, docks, drive-ins heavy power and additional on-site amenities.
