Newmark Hires Douglas Atkins as Senior Commercial Counsel for Newmark Title Services in Richmond, VA

Newmark announces that it has hired Douglas Atkins as Senior Commercial Counsel for Newmark Title Services[1] (NTS). Atkins will oversee large complex commercial real estate transactions, including multi-property, multi-state portfolios. Over his deep history in the sector, Atkins has coordinated transactions as large as $1.5 billion and a portfolio involving more than 220 sites across 12 states.

“With many years of high-level experience, bringing Doug onto the Newmark Title team both deepens our bench of talent and broadens our reach into expansive geographic and corporate sector markets,” said Marc Israel, President of NTS. “The growth of the firm’s title service division continues to ensure we can provide a seamless experience for our clients across the platform.”

Atkins specializes in working with solar energy developers and retailers on sale-leaseback transactions. He is an expert in new construction financing involving affirmative mechanic’s lien coverage. Before joining Newmark, Atkins was in-house senior counsel at Fidelity National Title Insurance Company in Richmond, Virginia. In that role, he worked on transactions grossing over $1.5 million in premiums.
