In a landmark appointment, Newmark has welcomed the highly regarded property expert, Luca de Ambrosis Ortigara, as a consultant to its growing luxury and premium retail team.
Luca’s arrival marks a pivotal step for Newmark as it continues to strengthen its presence in the global retail property market.
With over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, Luca is recognised as a leading pioneer of modern retail across Europe and on the international stage. He brings with him to Newmark a wealth of experience in retail with strong connections to leading developers, retail operators and brands including many iconic Italian fashion houses.
Newmark has supported businesses with their retail strategy, including premium and luxury brands, for more than 30 years in the UK, Europe and around the globe. This includes Polo Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Richemont, Watches of Switzerland, Swarovski and Paul Smith, as well as several LVMH brands including Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. Newmark continues to grow its support for luxury brands with Luca’s appointment a key milestone.
Luca founded DEA Real Estate Advisors in Milan in 2003, where he played a critical role in the development of groundbreaking urban projects such as Porta Nuova and CityLife, both of which have redefined Milan’s cityscape.
Luca was also previously Partner and Managing Director of McArthurGlen, where he oversaw the development of Italy’s first luxury outlet centres (Serravalle, Barberino, Castel Romano and Noventa).
