Newmark Hires Market-Leading Office Agency Expert Doug Mueller as Vice Chairman in Washington, D.C.

Newmark announces the firm has hired Doug Mueller as Vice Chairman in its Washington, D.C. office. Recognized as one of the top brokers in the region, Mueller will spearhead agency leasing efforts in Washington, D.C., focusing on office landlord representation.

In 2024, Mueller’s team completed over 100 transactions, approximately one every three days, resulting in their being recognized as CREBA’s 2024 Top Agents of the Year. Further highlighting his robust track record, he has successfully closed more than 1,000 transactions over the course of his career, representing more than 20 million square feet, with an aggregate deal volume of more than $5 billion.

Mueller joins Newmark from JLL, where he served as an Executive Managing Director and was Co-Head of the firm’s Agency Leasing team in Washington, D.C. While there, Mueller drove the expansion of the team, growing its portfolio from one million square feet in 2012 to 20 million square feet of office buildings in various product types and locations. He also previously served as a Senior Vice President at CBRE, where he specialized in agency leasing and represented institutional, regional and local landlords on more than four million square feet of property within the D.C. market.
