Clay Vaughn, senior managing director for the Dallas office of Newmark, negotiated a new lease on behalf of SoftLayer, a global provider of on-demand data center and hosting services. The transaction was for 42,000 square feet in the Alpha Metro building at 4849 Alpha Road. This lease provides SoftLayer with the entire building, and added to another recent lease for more than 80,000 square feet, takes its full capacity in the space to approximately 125,000 square feet. Clint Madison with Capstar Commercial Real Estate Services and Glen Benoist with Digital Realty Trust represented the landlord in the transaction, Digital Realty Trust.
