Newmark has named Charles V. Tabone, SIOR, its 2009 “Industrial Broker of the Year.”
The global real estate services firm honored Tabone, managing principal and partner in charge of its Long Island office, based on his production during the past year. This is the fourth time Tabone has earned Newmark’s designation as its industrial broker of the year. He also received this award in 2001, 2003 and 2007.
During his years at Newmark, he has been honored with various industry recognitions including the 2008 Commercial Industrial Brokers Society’s “Lifetime Achievement Award.” In 2007, Long Island Business News awarded him both the “Commercial Broker of the Year Award” and “Top Office Lease Award,” and he was named to the publication’s list of “Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate Brokers” in 2001 and 2005. Tabone was also named as a “Long Island Power Broker” by the CoStar Group in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Tabone closed 28 transactions in 2009, totaling hundreds of thousands of square feet of sales and leases of industrial, office and R&D space. He also sold a 34-acre land parcel in the Town of Brookhaven, marking the largest industrial land sale on Long Island this past year.
Tabone is a member and past president of both the New York City & Downstate Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS), and a member of the Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area (IOREBA).
