Newmark has entered into a partnership with Frederick Ross Company, a dominant commercial real estate services firm in the Denver, Colorado marketplace, announced Barry M. Gosin, chief executive officer of Newmark. This addition brings a staff of 170 experienced brokerage professionals and support staff to the firm, and the new operation will be named Newmark Frederick Ross.
“A major aspect of our ongoing strategy to grow the firm has been to strengthen our presence in regional markets across the country,” says Gosin. “With its 122-year history as a premier full service company, Frederick Ross brings substantial expertise in the important Denver market, and will be a powerful and valuable addition to meet client needs in the Rocky Mountain region. This is very much in keeping with our ongoing expansion plans.”
Headquartered in Denver, Frederick Ross joins a firm with more than 220 offices around the world. A full-service organization, Ross provides brokerage, real estate property management, consulting, development, marketing, research and broad market intelligence. The firm is also well-known for its contributions to Denver’s civic and business life.
With the partnership, John P. Box will continue to serve as president and CEO of Newmark Frederick Ross, and Kevin D. Thomas, senior vice president, will continue as sales manager for the brokerage group.
“For regional firms such as ours, it has become almost necessary to be part of an expansive global operating platform,” says Box. “Newmark is one of the world’s premier real estate providers, one whose infrastructure and support is a perfect fit with our local market expertise.”
“It has become increasingly important for regional firms to service clients in broader markets,” says Thomas. “From our perspective, this is a natural next step for our firm in terms of being able to best serve our new and existing clients.”
Other key executives for Frederick Ross Company include executive vice president Richard G. McClintock and senior vice presidents Steven K. Taniguchi, Jennifer M. Plunkett, Rick A. Pederson, and Thomas H. Wootten.
The partnership with Frederick Ross follows Newmark’s merging of operations earlier this year with Cornish & Carey, a dominant Northern California real estate company based in Santa Clara, now operating as Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark. Newmark’s climb as a leading global firm began with its regional-to-national transformation in 2001, followed by its strategic partnership with London-based Knight Frank in 2006. Over the past several years, the firm has continued to recruit top talent and invest in its infrastructure and resources, most recently being named to the InformationWeek 500 for a third consecutive year.
