Newmark is pleased to announce Roger Land, MAI has been promoted to Valuation & Advisory (V&A) Senior Managing Director and Co-Leader of the Retail Petroleum & Restaurants Specialty Practice. He will co-lead the specialty practice alongside Senior Managing Director Brock J. Rule, MAI, ASA-BV, reporting to U.S. Valuation & Advisory Practice Leader Helene Jacobson, MAI, MRICS. Prior to his promotion to Senior Managing Director, Land served as Executive Vice President for the V&A practice.
Both Land and Rule joined the firm when Newmark acquired the assets of Hopkins Appraisal Services (Hopkins)—a national leader in the valuation of restaurants and retail petroleum—establishing Newmark V&A’s Retail Petroleum & Restaurants Specialty Practice. The practice has leveraged the firm’s best-in-class data and network to dramatically increase its reach and production volume.
“Newmark’s Retail Petroleum & Restaurants Specialty Practice is known for its ability to provide expert analysis of the largest and most complex projects. Roger has been at the forefront of that success, being a valued advisor to our clients and a leader amongst his peers,” said Rule. “Clients and colleagues have benefited from his expertise and hard work, and I look forward to collaborating with him to guide our team to an even more successful future.”
A commercial real estate expert with more than 30 years of valuation experience, Land’s expertise includes business and real estate valuation, audit assistance, purchase price allocation and litigation support. He is a certified general real estate appraiser in 18 states and specializes in valuation and portfolio analysis of convenience stores, truck stops, restaurants, car washes and other prominent, franchised retail concepts.
“After decades spent building strong relationships with our team and clients, it is a pleasure to join Brock as Co-Leader of Newmark’s Retail Petroleum & Restaurants Specialty Practice,” said Land. “Our phenomenal team has leveraged Newmark’s commercial real estate network and resources to reach record production volumes. I am excited to take the next steps as we continue to expand the practice.”
