Avery Silverstein is an Executive Managing Director with the Harmon/Spies Capital Markets Team, based in New York. Silverstein started her career at Eastdil Secured in 2013 where she spent 3.5 years before joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2016 alongside Doug Harmon, Adam Spies, Joshua King, Adam Doneger and Marcella Fasulo. For the five years from 2018-2022, the team led C&W to have the top market share of 36% across all assets classes in NYC Metro with over $55 billion in transactions. In February of 2023, Silverstein made the move over to Newmark along with the full Harmon / Spies team.
Silverstein focuses on office, retail, and multi-family investment sales transactions and has been involved in over $34 billion of transactions over her career. Her sales experience includes several large single trophy transactions such as the Crown Building ($1.775 BN), 711 Fifth Avenue ($906 M) and 1 Liberty Plaza ($1.515 BN) as well as number of multifamily communities and portfolio sales including Peter Cooper Stuyvesant Town ($5.4 BN), The AvalonBay NY Portfolio ($760 M) and Starrett City ($905 BN).
Silverstein has been recognized for her work in the industry including Crain’s Rising Stars in Real Estate 2020, Bisnow’s CRE Next Generation Series 2021, and Bisnow’s Leading Women in Real Estate 2022.

Education
Silverstein holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from Brown University where she played four years of Division I Women’s Softball, serving as team captain for two years. Silverstein is also a member of the Junior Board for Breaking Ground New York, a nonprofit that aims to provide affordable housing and programs for homeless New Yorkers.
