BJ Bhal joined Newmark in 2019 as a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Toronto office. Bhal brings with him extensive commercial real estate experience, having completed more than $2 billion worth of transactions in investment sales and office leasing.
Bhal brings with him a breadth of experience in seniors housing investment sales, land acquisitions and dispositions, tenant and landlord representation, lease renewals, office relocations, and acquisitions/disposition of hospitality, retail and office assets.
Bhal and his partner, Dave Kalinowsky, specialize in the seniors housing, healthcare, and multi-family sectors across Canada. As specialists, Bhal and Kalinowsky apply a research-based approach to the needs of their seniors housing clients. The Seniors Housing team at Newmark leverages its knowledge of the industry, an extensive relationship network and in-depth knowledge of local and national markets in order to ensure their clients are making informed business decisions.
Bhal has provided commercial real estate services to some of North America’s most notable companies, including Bank of Montreal, Canaccord, Chartwell REIT, The Globe & Mail, SNC-Lavalin. Sunrise Senior Living, the Toronto Transit Commission, UBS, Unilever and Welltower. Bhal also played a key role in the appointment and leasing of Canada’s most prestigious and iconic office tower development, CIBC Square.
