Charles McGrath is an Executive Managing Director in Newmark’s Philadelphia office. In his role, McGrath provides guidance through every stage of the acquisition and sales processes, helping his clients meet strategic, operational and financial goals for their real estate investments with a specific focus on industrial and office.
Prior to joining Newmark, McGrath worked for Cushman & Wakefield for 2 years, where he focused on growing the firm’s capital markets platform across all asset classes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. During his time, he arranged such high-profile transactions as the Independence Collection (750k SF) for KKR & Goldman Sachs as well an industrial sale-leaseback for Victory Brewing Facility (212k SF) to Fortress.
Previously, McGrath led the Northeast Office of MRP Realty & for 18 years & managed the underwriting, due diligence, budgeting, acquisition, equity and debt origination, entitlement, design, development, construction, leasing and disposition of land and income-producing properties in the New York City & Philadelphia Metro Areas totaling 6.9 million square feet and representing $2.2 billion. Prior to departing MRP, McGrath aggregated a value-add industrial portfolio of over 45 properties with Partners Group as the LP.

Education
McGrath graduated magna cum laude from the Catholic University of America with a Master of Architecture, with a concentration in real estate development. McGrath was awarded the American Institute of Architects Henry Adams Certificate of Merit for excellence in the study of architecture and his graduate thesis was selected for exhibition at the National Building Museum.
