Cherie Wittry is a senior managing director in Newmark’s Palo Alto office, where she represents landlords and tenants in the leasing and sale of office/R&D properties throughout the Mid-Peninsula/Silicon Valley Corridor. Cherie has nearly 30 years of experience representing clients within this region, which includes Palo Alto/Mountain View and stretches from San Mateo County in the north to Santa Clara County in the south.
Since joining Newmark in February 1990, Cherie has consistently ranked as a Top Performer among the more than 330 agents in Newmark’s Northern California region. Over the course of her career, she has completed more than 849 lease and sale transactions totaling more than 5.0 million square feet and valued in excess of $92.0 million in consideration.
Cherie has represented clients from every professional service sector: law, venture capital, finance, first-seed startups, tech companies, client/tenant headquarter offices, non-profit/foundations and local retail. She has successfully completed some of the most highly recognized market transactions in the region. Her professional client services involve years of repeat business with both landlords and tenants.
Prior to joining the firm, Cherie began her commercial real estate career at Palo Alto-based Hare, Brewer & Kelley, Inc. (HBK), a full service commercial development, property management, investment and sales/leasing company. Cherie experience at HBK included new and existing Class A signature office development projects in Palo Alto and Mountain View. She was consistently ranked one of HBK’s Top Five producers and received that firm’s Dealmaker of the Year, Top Producer and Single Largest Transaction Producer awards.
Besides her leasing experience, Cherie has represented clients in building sales for all office building sizes as well as local owners in Palo Alto and the surrounding regions, whether the client objective was owner/user or buyer/seller investment.

Prior to her career in commercial real estate, Cherie spent more than eight years as a fast track executive in retail management/sales, where she excelled as a buyer, store manager and special projects vice president with the 48-store, five-state Joseph Magnin Company/San Francisco, a premier, contemporary, high fashion women’s store.

Education
Cherie earned a Master of Business Administration degree in management-finance from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis.
