As an Associate Director in the Newmark Atlanta office, Chris Witcher works with healthcare providers to develop and execute real estate strategies that align with the business, operational and financial goals of an organization. Witcher acts as a strategic advisor to physician groups and healthcare systems, providing insights and expertise on portfolio strategy and management, market and location strategy, acquisitions and dispositions, asset monetizations, and lease and contract negotiations.
Currently, Witcher oversees the portfolio management for several regional multi-location medical practices providing portfolio strategy along with execution of lease transactions, acquisitions and dispositions and sale-leasebacks.
During his tenure at Newmark, he has developed and executed complex portfolio planning on behalf of a large healthcare system to consolidate and reduce operating costs for their real estate footprint. This project encompassed over 700,000 square feet of medical space surrounding their main hospital campuses and over 50 lease and property acquisitions/dispositions. He served as the primary contact and provided market and site analysis for their ambulatory growth plan within their metropolitan area.
Witcher has also been involved in over 200,000 square feet of medical office development, assisting his clients in all phases of the development process including strategy, site selection, deal structure, financing, design/construction team selection, leasing, and sales/marketing.
At the beginning of career, he’s leased several REIT-owned medical office portfolios totaling more than 500,000 square feet.
