David Hollister serves as a managing director in Newmark’s Cleveland office. A native of Cleveland, Mr. Hollister joined the company in 2005 and has since become one of the firm’s top producers. He previously worked for 20 years in New York City. A veteran of Wall Street, he spent 10 years as a U.S. government bond trader at Credit Suisse. He previously worked at KPMG and later managed the finances of a dot-com while spearheading its relocation with the help of what was then Newmark Lewis. Mr. Hollister also sold interactive pitching machines to Major League Baseball clubs.
Mr. Hollister’s wealth of experience in finance, sales and real estate brings a myriad of skill sets to bear. Recent assignments include:
- Site selection and negotiation for client Snavely Group’s new, 13-acre headquarters
- Negotiated over 150,000 SF of office leases in Central Business District for landlord client Optima
- Disposition of the Dolan family’s 140,000 SF Chardon portfolio
- Procured 48,000 SF tenant Electronic Merchant Systems in Central Business District for landlord client Bedrock
- Renegotiated VHT’s 24,000 SF Lease for Fairlawn HQ
- Comprehensive study of large midwestern public utility’s real estate portfolio and selective disposition(s)
- Office leasing for Kamalt Corp’s Rockside road portfolio
- Office leasing for 228,000 sf 6200 Oak Tree Boulevard in Independence
- Disposition assignment for East side entertainment complex
- Negotiation of 10-year lease of suburban cinema multiplex
- Site selection and negotiation for first Northeast Ohio location for client Artis Senior Living
- Negotiated sale and leaseback of client Orca House with the Cleveland Clinic
- Disposition assignment for five properties for the Episcopalian Diocese of Ohio

Mr. Hollister earned his Master of Business degree from New York University’s Leonard Stern School of Business. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College.
