David Martel joined Newmark in 2015 as an Executive Managing Director in the firm’s Boston office, where he advises tenants, landlords and investors on leasing and sale transactions in Boston’s real estate market. Co-managing a deep and experienced team of high quality advisors, Martel and his team collaborate closely with the Newmark investment sale team in Boston, which is widely recognized as one of the most powerful and accomplished capital markets operations in the country.
Martel’s clients include some of the largest U.S. corporations as well as local boutiques. Martel played a central role in the Boston headquarters leases for Bain Capital, Brown Brothers Harriman, Nixon Peabody, and JP Morgan. He also takes significant pride in helping smaller companies and early stage ventures navigate the marketplace.
Martel has also advised some of the best-known landlords and investors in the U.S. During his 36-year career, he has represented some of Boston’s most iconic buildings and development sites, including The John Hancock Tower, International Place, One Beacon Street, One Financial Center, 1 Lincoln, 101 Seaport, 121 Seaport, and One Winthrop Square.
Martel’s team has built a practice centered on access to diverse information, which is the foundation to developing the insights and strategies client desserve to make optimal real estate decisions.
Prior to joining Newmark, Martel served for 12 years as an Executive Vice President with Cushman & Wakefield in Boston. Earlier in his career, Martel was a partner with Spaulding & Slye Colliers and JLL for 10 years. He was the 2008 winner of the CBA Broker of the Year.

Martel earned a bachelor degree in political science from Providence College.
