Derek Lichtfuss serves as a Director in Newmark’s Columbus, Ohio office, where he has focused primarily on Industrial and Office Sales & Leasing. In his six years at Newmark, Mr. Lichtfuss has completed over 100 transactions, with total square footage in excess of 2,000,000. Mr. Lichtfuss has transacted in office and industrial deals ranging from 2,000 to 220,000 SF. Mr. Lichtfuss is partnered with Terry Coyne out of Newmark’s Cleveland office. Together they provide world class industrial brokerage and commercial real estate advisory services to the Greater Columbus region, Central Ohio, and throughout the state. Mr. Lichtfuss has been selected as a ‘Rising Star’ nationally at Newmark in his first 3 years and was awarded the Columbus Board of Realtor’s Rookie of the Year in 2017. Additionally, Mr. Lichtfuss has his Master’s in Real Estate Finance & Development from Georgetown University. Mr. Lichtfuss is a ULI member and 2019 Chair of the Columbus Board of Realtors Commercial Recognition Committee.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Mr. Lichtfuss worked in various roles across multiple industries including banking, IT services and business intelligence consulting. Positions held include sales, recruitment, project management, and management. His experience across a wide array of business ventures led him to pursuing a career in commercial real estate. Mr. Lichtfuss enjoys assisting in the critical decision-making that affects the way businesses operate and grow.
Education
Mr. Lichtfuss relocated to Columbus, OH from Denver, CO in 2015. He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Vermont, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, with minors in both business administration and recreation management. He was a 4-year member of the Varsity Lacrosse team at UVM. In addition to his professional life, Mr. Lichtfuss serves as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach for Columbus Academy in Gahanna, OH. Mr. Lichtfuss resides in New Albany, OH with his wife and two children.
