Edward Corbett currently serves as Executive Managing Director, Multifamily Debt Production for the Central Region of Newmark’s Multifamily Capital Markets group. Currently based in Chicago, Corbett has more than 21 years of industry experience and is responsible for working with the national multifamily origination team to drive increased production volume. Corbett has substantial expertise in the structuring of agency debt in the multifamily housing sector.
Corbett joined Newmark after serving as Director, Production & Sales for Freddie Mac operating out of the firm’s Chicago office, where he was responsible for managing the Central Region production staff, which originated over $16 billion of loans in 2020. During his first four years at Freddie Mac, Corbett was a Credit Director in the Central Region overseeing a team of underwriters and approving transactions. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Corbett served as a Managing Director at The Privatebank (now CIBC) where he oversaw the bank’s Real Estate Owned Group and was involved in the workout and restructuring of troubled debt. Before that, he held an Associate Director role in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at LaSalle Bank in Chicago working on the credit and underwriting of CMBS transactions.

Corbett graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and real estate from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Miami University.
