Eric Witmondt joined Newmark as a senior managing director in the Rutherford office in 2013. Specializing in both office and industrial space since 1987, Mr. Witmondt is widely regarded as an industry leader, recognized for his management achievements as well as his success in brokerage. Over the past 25 years, he has consummated in excess of 1,000 transactions valued at over $4.0 billion. Mr. Witmondt has received national recognition as a “Top 20 Broker” by Real Estate Forum and “Top 40 Executives Under 40” by Business News New Jersey magazine. He was named to the NJBIZ Real Estate Report Power 50 for the past three years, ranking #12 in 2010, #28 in 2011 and #27 in 2012. Additionally, Mr. Witmondt was honored as a finalist for the 1995 NAIOP Creative Deal of the Year Award, and was its recipient in 1998.
Mr. Witmondt’s inception into the real estate industry began with Cushman & Wakefield, where he quickly became the “Rookie of the Year for the Region” in addition to earning “Top 100 Broker” designation nationally and a “Top 10 Broker” designation for New Jersey. In 1991, Mr. Witmondt founded Associated Realty, Inc., a New Jersey brokerage firm which grew to become one of the largest and most successful, independent commercial real estate brokerage companies in New Jersey. In 2000, Mr. Witmondt merged his firm with FirstService Williams (formerly GVA Williams) and served as vice chairman for the New Jersey office, which included 50 employees and consummated more than $4.5 billion in transactions during his tenure.
