Erik Dahl, MAI, serves as Senior Vice President for the Convenience Stores & Automotive Energy and Restaurants specialty practice under Newmark Valuation & Advisory. Dahl brings to his position over 20 years of comprehensive experience in the valuation of car wash, retail petroleum marketing, quick lube, and restaurant properties.
Prior to joining Newmark, Dahl served as a senior associate with Hopkins Appraisal Services, Inc. following his tenure as a staff appraiser with Ambrose Appraisal Company in Houston, Texas.
Dahl has personally completed appraisals in 45 states of more than 2,500 retail petroleum/convenience store/quick lube/ car wash facilities and more than 1,000 franchise restaurants.

- Per Chapter 4 of the SBA’s SOP 50, Dahl has, within the last 36 months, completed no less than four going concern appraisal of special use properties (car wash, gas station with or without convenience store, restaurant, etc.)
Education
Dahl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Texas A&M University. More recently, he has successfully completed numerous real estate-related courses sponsored by the Appraisal Institute and others to fulfill the Certified General Appraiser’s continued education requirements.
