G. Edward “Ed” Kerr, MAI is an Executive Vice President in Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Baltimore office and has been providing valuation and consulting services since the 1991.
His vast experience includes the completion and review of a multitude of commercial real estate valuations, market studies and feasibility studies throughout his extensive career. Kerr’s expertise extends to a variety of complex asset types, including, but not limited to, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, life science (biotech) facilities, medical and general office buildings (CBD and suburban), retail shopping centers, regional outlets, apartment buildings, industrial warehouses, manufacturing facilities, truck terminals, automobile service stations, restaurants, hotels, motels, golf courses, residential subdivisions, agricultural and vacant land. While his practice focuses predominantly on Maryland, he has completed appraisals in a variety of states, and even outside of the United States, including St. Thomas, VI and St. Croix, VI.
Prior to Newmark, Kerr was the Senior Managing Director overseeing the Baltimore office of Integra Realty Resources (IRR), where he worked for 15 years. He joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2017, when the firm acquired several affiliates, including the Baltimore office, of IRR.

Education
Kerr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and psychology from Towson State University School of Business and Economics. He also has successfully completed all required courses necessary for the MAI designation by the Appraisal Institute, including, but not limited to, Report Writing, Case Studies, Income Capitalization Part A & B, Standards of Professional Practice, Appraisal Procedures, Advanced Sales Comparison and Cost Approach, Highest and Best Use and Market Analysis, Appraisal Reporting of Complex Properties. He is currently certified by the Appraisal Institute’s voluntary program of continuing education for its designated members.
