Glenn Beyer is a senior managing director with Newmark. He brings to his position more than 20 years of retail leasing experience representing owners, developers and tenants in Central and Northern New Jersey. Since the start of his real estate career, Beyer has grown his outreach in the industry by earning and maintaining his clients’ trust.
Beyer represents numerous landlords throughout the region, including Acadia Realty Trust, Ares Management, The LeFrak Organization, Millcreek Residential, Normandy Partners, The Silverman Group, Toll Brothers City Living, Tucker Development Corporation and Urban Edge Properties.
Most notable is Beyer’s work on behalf of owners along New Jersey’s Gold Coast; he is one of the most active retail brokers in Jersey City, Hoboken and Fort Lee. At Maxwell Place on the Hudson and Hudson Tea in Hoboken, Beyer has arranged leases totaling in excess of 60,000 SF on behalf of Toll Brothers City Living. Tenants secured at these properties include 16 Handles, Amazing Lash, Bright Horizons, European Wax Center, Massage Envy, Riverside Pediatrics, Tutti Nails and W Kodak Jewelers. On behalf of The LeFrak Organization, Beyer has arranged transactions with Chef Tan, Los Cuernos and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse at Newport in Jersey City. He is also a member of the team that has successfully leased The Shops at Hudson Lights in Fort Lee, arranging leases with Anthony Franco’s Pizza, City Perch, CVS, Cyclebar, iPic Theaters, Mamoun’s, Paris Baguette and Tang, among others.
Beyer has also secured many first-to-New Jersey tenants for real estate owners in the downtowns of New Jersey. In Summit, Beyer arranged leases with Drybar, Serena & Lily, Trek Bicycle and West Elm, all of which have opened and transformed the retail make-up of this market. Beyer’s recent notable transactions in Morristown total more than 30,000 square feet and include leases with Aikou Japanese, Bluemercury, Boutique 161, CrossFit Morristown, Edward Jones, J&K Steakhouse, Millie’s Coal Fired Pizza, Morristown Pancake House and Panera Bread.
Equally impressive is Beyer’s work on behalf of retailers and restaurants in New Jersey. His clients include Chipotle, Five Guys Burger and Fries, Insomnia Cookies, Lands End, PNC Bank and Visionworks.
Under Beyer’s leadership, Visionworks was able to secure high-profile locations throughout the state, including Clark, Rockaway, Shrewsbury, and Union. For Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Beyer executed the initial roll-out into North Jersey, securing 10 locations for the quick-service restaurant. He has also handled the strategic expansion of Chipotle, securing 15 new locations. Beyer has also arranged numerous leases for banks, including Chase Bank in Whippany; Clifton Savings Bank in Lyndhurst; Investors Savings Bank in Montclair; New Bank in Fort Lee; Oritani Bank in Westwood, Ramsey, Clifton and Upper Montclair; PNC Bank in Hoboken; and TD Bank in Roxbury. He also represented Golf Galaxy in East Hanover, Goodwill Industries in Springfield and Fairfield, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Princeton, Sherwin Williams in Hillsdale and SoulCycle in its first New Jersey lease in Short Hills.
Beyer joined Newmark in 2019, when corporate parent Newmark Group, Inc., acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage. He began at RKF in 2009 and had been a senior managing director when the firm was acquired. Prior to RKF, Beyer worked at Metro Commercial Real Estate, Inc.
