Harrison Abramowitz serves as a Managing Director in the New York office of Newmark, where he specializes in the representation of both owners and tenants in retail leasing transactions. Abramowitz brings to his position 10 years of commercial real estate experience in the New York market.
Abramowitz has and continues to represent national and local retailers expanding throughout New York City. Recently, Abramowitz helped the CVS pharmacy chain negotiate a lease for 10,000 square feet at 387 Park Avenue South. He was also a member of the team that secured 19,000 square feet for CVS at the iconic Brill Building in Times Square. He is currently actively expanding several emerging brands, including Candid Co., which he is negotiating deals with around the country. He is also working on behalf of several fashion companies throughout the city’s high streets.
On the landlord side, Abramowitz represents some of New York City’s largest institutional landlords, including Acadia Realty Trust, Extell Development Company, L&L Holding Company and RFR as well as private investors and co-op boards. He is currently marketing more than 75,000 square feet of retail space on behalf of Extell Development, as its exclusive agent across various projects. Most recently, Abramowitz has secured multiple leases at L&L’s Ironworks project at 511-541 West 25th Street.
Abramowitz received Newmark’s NYC Director of the Year Award in 2019. He has also been one of Newmark’s Rising Stars every year since 2016, and he was elected national president of the group by his peers in 2016/2017. Earlier in 2019, Real Estate Weekly named Abramowitz one of the year’s Rising Stars. He appeared among Commercial Observer’s Top 30 Leasing and Sales Brokers Under Age 30 in 2016 and was a CoStar Power Broker in 2017.
Education
Abramowitz graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
