J.D. Byrnes III is head of Global Account Management and Transaction Management, and Transition and Governance services groups of Newmark’s Global Corporate Services (GCS) division, overseeing the firm’s more than 200 corporate clients. Responsibilities include the management of revenue growth, profitability, client relations, governance, strategic planning, business development, talent growth and client satisfaction. Throughout his 22 years in the real estate industry, he has developed portfolio optimization strategies and ensured client satisfaction and account team performance for major corporate clients around the world.
Prior to his current role, Byrnes was the Global Account Manager for Cummins, where he managed a global account team supporting Cummins’ 27M SF global portfolio. Recent major initiatives Byrnes has facilitated include a 10-state site selection and lease negotiation project, $10B integration and transition for a global outsourcing, cost reduction and portfolio restructuring projects.
In 1998, Byrnes joined Grubb & Ellis (now Newmark) as an Advisor in the Office Advisory Group. As a member of the Advisory team he was responsible for business development and transaction management, financial analysis and lease review for numerous national accounts.
