James D. Renner currently serves as a Senior Managing Director for Newmark Valuation & Advisory and Market Leader for New England, including Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Renner manages a staff of industry experts in valuation and is based in the firm’s Boston, Massachusetts office.
Actively engaged in commercial real estate valuation and consulting since 1993, Renner has performed valuations within the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions of the United States. He has served a wide variety of clients, including private and public development companies, financial institutions, attorneys and legal professionals, private individuals, corporate property owners, investors, municipalities, as well as local and State Boards of Taxation.
Renner came to Newmark after serving as Vice President and Lead Commercial Valuations within Wells Fargo Bank - Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS), where he was responsible for procurement and review of commercial appraisals supporting the bank’s loan collateral. He worked with many internal lines of business and external appraisal vendors, providing risk management and consult to lenders within the bank. Renner managed appraisal valuations throughout the New England territory for Wells Fargo Bank (MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, CT) from 2006-2025.
Prior to his time at Wells Fargo Bank, Renner was a Senior commercial fee appraiser with Samuel D. Koon & Associates, LTD and The Robert Weiler Company.

Renner earned his Master of Science Degree in Real Estate with a concentration in Valuation & Analysis from New York University (NYU) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, as well as additional coursework in Business and Marketing from Lebanon Valley College (LVC).
