Jim Mullarkey joined Newmark in March 2006, having distinguished himself in the commercial real estate leasing industry and the day-to-day operations and management of a leading real estate portfolio. Since 2003, Mr. Mullarkey has completed over 4 million rentable square feet in leasing transactions representing a value of over $900 million.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Mullarkey served as vice president and chief operating officer of The Rubenstein Brokerage Group, Inc. where he was responsible for leasing the company’s eight million-square-foot portfolio spanning several states and the day-to-day operations of the business.
Mr. Mullarkey began his legal career as an associate at Fox, Rothschild, O’Brien and Frankel where he worked in both the corporate and real estate transactions department. He later joined The Rubenstein Company, L.P. as associate general counsel and was elected partner. Mr. Mullarkey’s primary responsibility was drafting and negotiating leases for the company’s eight million square feet of properties. He also assisted in Rubenstein’s acquisitions of Valley Creek Corporate Center, Pinnacle Towers, Radnor Financial Center and Radnor Research and Technology Center, as well as the dispositions of ABC/Whitewater, Plymouth Meeting Executive Campus, Ten Penn Center, 2000 Market Street, and Westfields.

Education
Mr. Mullarkey graduated, cum laude, from Temple University Law School with a Juris Doctor and from Temple University School of Business with a Master of Business Administration, Beta Gamma Sigma, with both degrees conferred in 1996. While at Temple, Mr. Mullarkey clerked for the Honorable Lowell A. Reed, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in the summer of 1994 and was a summer intern for Fox, Rothschild in 1995.
Mr. Mullarkey graduated in 1990 from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and a minor in economics. At Penn State, Mr. Mullarkey was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma National Fraternity. After graduation, Mr. Mullarkey worked with Shell Oil Company in New York from 1990 to 1992 in the Marketing and Refining Division as a Territory Manager.
