James Panzarella Jr. is an Associate with Newmark’s Retail Services at the firm’s New York headquarters, where he specializes in tenant and landlord representation on a local and national level.
Since joining the firm, Panzarella has assisted several prominent retailers in their expansion efforts across New York City and the Tri-State area including JD Sports, Madison Reed, Ernesta, Mah Ze Dahr, Rendr Care and CityMD. He has successfully implemented rollout strategies for organizations ranging from startups to globally recognized public corporations. Most recently, Panzarella helped secure the first retail location for direct-to-consumer brand Ernesta at 1052 Lexington Avenue. On the other end of the spectrum, he represented JD Sports for their 200th US location at 159-10 Jamaica Avenue. Panzarella has been instrumental in the national expansion of JD Sports, facilitating transactions in various states across the country. Recent deals have been completed in California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
On the Landlord side, Panzarella has represented distinguished owners such as Abington Properties, Atlas Capital Group, Global Holdings Management Group, and Related Companies. Panzarella has achieved notable successes in representing Abington Properties at 50 Prince Street, where he secured the location for the NYC flagship store of the global streetwear brand Stüssy. Additionally, Panzarella represented Global Holdings at 1 West 60th Street, where he secured the flagship location for Lady M Cake Boutique in the luxury residential development, Anagram Columbus Circle.
Education
Panzarella joined Newmark following his graduation from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in Finance and Management. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
