James Panzarella is an Associate Director with Newmark Retail Services at the firm’s New York headquarters, where he specializes in tenant and landlord representation on both a local and national level.
Since joining the firm, Panzarella has successfully implemented rollout strategies for clients ranging from startups to global public corporations. He currently leads the national expansion efforts for JD Sports, DTLR, Thuma, Ernesta, Neko Health and CityMD. Most recently, Panzarella helped secure Thuma’s San Francisco flagship at 2197 Chestnut Street and Ernesta’s first showrooms in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Greenwich (CT), and Bethesda (MD). He plays a key role in the national growth of footwear giants JD Sports and DTLR, having facilitated 40+ transactions in 12 states totaling over 300,000 square feet.
On the Landlord side, Panzarella has represented distinguished owners including Abington Properties, Atlas Capital Group, Extell Development, Global Holdings Management Group, Hilson Management, Spear Street Capital and Two Trees Management. Recent successes include representing Global Holdings at Anagram Columbus Circle, securing Capital One Café, Lady M Cake Boutique and Action Black to anchor the new luxury development and representing Hilson Management at 185 Madison Avenue where the Italian luxury furniture brand Porada recently opened their US flagship. Panzarella also represented Abington Properties at 50 Prince Street, inking a deal with global streetwear brand Stüssy for their NYC flagship.
Education
Panzarella joined Newmark following his graduation from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in Finance. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
