Jay Bonano joined Newmark in 2017 as an executive managing director in the firm’s Houston office, where he specializes in tenant representation. Over a commercial real estate career spanning 32 years, Mr. Bonano has completed more than 8 million square feet of transactions. His clients have included high-profile companies in the U.S.
Mr. Bonano joined Newmark after more than 11 years in Savills Studley’s Houston office, where he also served as an executive managing director representing tenants. Prior to his tenant representation focus, Mr. Bonano served as a leasing representative for some of the largest building owners in the U.S. His experience advising both tenants and landlords has allowed him to produce significant results for his clients.
Prior to Savills Studley, Mr. Bonano was a senior vice president in the Houston office of CBRE, as part of the firm’s Global Corporate Services Group. He has also served as an advisor on several major redevelopment projects, acquiring broad expertise in a range of building-related aspects including operating systems and tenant construction.

Education
Mr. Bonano earned his Bachelor of Science degree in communications from the University of Texas at Austin. While attending the university, he was a member of the Texas Cowboys. He is a licensed pilot and enjoys traveling and weekends on the water at his bay home in Port O’Connor, Texas.
