Jay O’Meara is Vice Chairman in Newmark’s Atlanta office. O’Meara works alongside Justin Parsonnet and Ryan Reethof to lead office investment sales in the Southeast U.S. region.
The team has been involved in over $23 billion in sales transactions, encompassing 110 million square feet of space in more than 25 markets, primarily in the Southeast. O’Meara has served as a guest lecturer for Emory University, Notre Dame, the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt University, Georgia State University and numerous industry organizations.
Prior to joining Newmark, O’Meara was an Executive Vice President at CBRE and member of the firm’s Institutional Properties Group with prior experience at Cushman & Wakefield and Porter Keadle Moore, a regional accounting and advisory firm where he earned his CPA license (now inactive).
O’Meara has been honored numerous times as a top 10 broker in Atlanta and as a Top Producer in the Southeast Region. He has also been recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the city’s “Top 40 Under 40”. He is active with leadership positions in professional and civic organizations including NAIOP, ULI, Peachtree Presbyterian Church, and the University of Georgia Terry College Alumni Advisory Board. He has also coached teams in a variety of his children’s sports leagues.

O’Meara earned his Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Finance, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Georgia.
