Jim Myers MAI, joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2017 and serves as Vice Chairman and Market Co-Leader for Southern California. Myers specializes in valuation and advisory, with a special focus on office properties, entertainment studios, data centers, and life science assets. His expertise also includes highest and best use studies, ground lease valuation and consulting, arbitrations, litigation support, and real estate tax appeals consulting.
Myers has successfully completed appraisal and consulting assignments for all major property types, including office, land, residential, retail, hotel, studio, data center and special-purpose. In particular, he has focused on major office properties and data centers throughout the United States. Myers has also been involved in significant arbitrations relating to resets of ground leases and major leased premises.
Prior to joining Newmark, Myers worked as an appraiser at Cushman & Wakefield for 31 years. Prior to that, he worked for two years at Donahue and Company, Inc., where he focused on eminent domain litigation, special purpose and problem properties, easement valuation and full and partial property damages.

Education
Myers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kenyon College. He has also completed the requirements of the Appraisal Institute’s continuing education program.
