Joe Curtis joined the Sacramento industrial division of Newmark in February 2002. As a Managing Director with more than 15 years of experience, Curtis specializes in the representation of tenants and owners in the sale and leasing of industrial land and buildings. He completed 29 transactions valued at $28.0 million in 2016. Since joining Newmark, he has been involved in 467 transactions totaling over 8.5 million square feet and he has been nominated for the Industrial Broker of the Year award multiple times.
Prior to joining Newmark, Curtis was a staff accountant with Gibson & Company Certified Public Accountants, where he performed audit and tax work with a variety of clients. The skills he acquired there, especially his attention to detail, are continuously utilized today while assisting clients with their real estate needs.
With colleague Kevin Jasper, Curtis organized the annual Broker Punt, Pass and Kick Competition, for which the proceeds have benefited the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, the Special Olympics, the River City Food Bank and the Sheriff’s Community Impact Program (SCIP). What started out eight years ago as a small event has become a well-attended brokerage function involving more than 80 participants and numerous sponsors within the real estate industry each year. The pair oversees all facets of the event from fundraising and prizes to the after-party. The competition has raised more than $300,000.
Curtis also served as treasurer on the board of directors for SCIP and currently serves on the board of directors for Del Dayo Soccer Club.
