John A. Ennis serves as a Senior Vice President with Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Financial Reporting practice. Ennis brings to his position more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of real estate valuation and analysis. Over the course of his career, he has served a wide range of clients, including federal agencies, municipalities, financial institutions, insurance companies, REITs, private and public corporations, public utilities and individuals.
Ennis’ expertise extends to all commercial and residential property types, including office, industrial, retail, lodging, multihousing (high-rises, garden apartments and condominiums), rights-of-way and special-purpose (self-storage facilities, service stations, waterfront properties and power plants). He has completed many engagements for financial reporting and tax purposes, including ASC 805 purchase accounting, ASC 820 fair value analyses, lease accounting and impairment testing. Ennis also has extensive experience with portfolio valuations, acquisition underwriting, appraisal reviews and litigation support, including pre-trial analysis and counseling, negotiations and settlement conferences.
Although Ennis has concentrated most of his practice in the U.S., he has provided real estate valuation and consulting services on assets located in European and Asian markets.
Ennis joined Newmark in 2018, after more than 12 years with FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm. As a senior director in FTI’s Roseland, New Jersey, office, Ennis was a key leader in the firm’s real estate valuation practice.
Prior to joining FTI, Ennis spent 10 years with the Valuation & Advisory group of Cushman & Wakefield.

Ennis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
