As the Director of Newmark’s Receivership and Special Assets Group, John Rothschild is responsible for the oversight and leadership of receivership assignments nationwide. With more than 40 years of experience in finance and in in his thirteenth year as a court-appointed receiver, Mr. Rothschild has partnered with lenders, servicers and owners to provide receivership services. Mr. Rothschild serves as a resource and subject matter expert to Newmark’s teams nationally and ensures the integration of all Newmark service lines on receivership assignments.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Rothschild directed Continental Realty’s Receivership and Special Assets Group in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, he served as a receiver and was instrumental in providing a one-stop shop approach by coordinating all services, including property management, project management, leasing and disposition services.
Mr. Rothschild began his career in financial services, where he represented clients in all aspects of corporate and real estate lending, bond financing, and mergers and acquisitions.

Community Activities
Mr. Rothschild is a member of the Executive, Governance, and Property Committees of Homeport Ohio, a Board Member of Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and a Member of the House Committee of the Athletic Club of Columbus. He has been active in numerous educational and not for profit organizations in the past.
In addition, Mr. Rothschild regularly speaks about receiverships at meetings held by various Bar Associations, NAIOP, financial institutions and law firms.
Education
Mr. Rothschild graduated from the University of Virginia and holds an inactive Series 63 and 7 Securities license.
