John Ellis serves as a Senior Managing Director in Newmark’s Miami office. He is experienced in market planning, construction and lease negotiation and has represented both tenants and landlords in their retail needs.
Ellis has worked with numerous national retailers, including Aesop Cosmetics, Ann Sacks Tile & Stone, Baker Furniture, Bobby Berk Home, BoConcept, Boston Market, Citibank, Dress Barn, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Fox Restaurant Group, Freshii, GNC, The Kohler Company, Lucky’s Market, Longhua USA, Luxottica, RED Digital Cinema, Scavolini Kitchens, Shake Shack, Spot Coffee, Vapiano and Walgreens.
In addition, Ellis has executed numerous leases with regional and national landlords, including Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, Brickman, the Carlyle Group, Duke Real Estate, Equity Residential, General Growth Companies, Inland RE Group of Companies, Kite Realty, L3 Capital, Mass Mutual, MetLife, Morgan Stanley, NorthEnd Equities LLC, Phillips Edison & Co., Prudential, Ramco-Gershenson, Regency Centers, The Rockpoint Group, Thor Equities and Westfield.
Ellis joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc., acquired RKF, a retail real estate brokerage based in New York. Prior to RKF, Ellis was the Director of Development for Southern Holdings, responsible for all aspects of new store development, from market planning through lease execution. Ellis was previously the Director of Development at iFloor in Seattle.
