John Howley joined Newmark in 2016 and is a Vice Chairman. John has been consistently recognized as a top achiever throughout his career.
Over the past 30 years, Howley has sold over $100 billion of loans and valued in excess of $200 billion of loans for both the public and private sector. He has an innate understanding of the secondary debt markets and current capital market conditions throughout the world and has sold loans in every state in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. John recently led the Newmark sales efforts on the largest CRE and loan sale in history -
the $52 billion FDIC Signature Bank Structured Loan Sale - which included $33 billion of CRE loans.
Prior to joining Newmark, Howley worked for Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Group, where he provided financial advisory services for the acquisition, financing and disposition of commercial and residential assets worldwide. John was consistently one of the top producers in the firm and closed some of the firm’s largest transactions during his tenure, including several loan portfolio sales in excess of $1 billion. Howley also
worked for LaSalle Partners and HSBC Bank.

Howley obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College.
