John L. Rucker, MAI, joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2017 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President in the Phoenix office. Rucker appraises commercial properties with a focus on retail, restaurant, NNN, industrial and
office properties. In addition, Rucker is registered with the Appraisal Institute’s SBA Going Concern Registry as a qualified appraiser for going concern valuations and has completed numerous going concern appraisal assignments.
Over the span of a 38-year career as an appraiser, Rucker has worked with a variety of financial institutions, private lenders, developers, private investors, attorneys, government agencies and corporate clients. Rucker is also a qualified witness in U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court and has worked on numerous litigation assignments.
Prior to Newmark, Rucker worked as a commercial appraiser in Phoenix for three years with CBRE, 10 years with Viewpoint Group, LLC and 13 years with Dennis L. Lopez & Associates.

Rucker earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Finance & Real Estate) from the University of Arizona. He has also completed several courses with the Appraisal Institute.
