John Moran joined Newmark in 2004 and is currently a Managing Director at the firm’s New York headquarters. He has been recognized for his achievements representing tenants on a local, national and international level. Most notably, Moran has represented some of the most well-known technology and financial services companies.
Moran has worked on transactions for a variety of companies and industries, including Advent Capital Management, Archview Investment Group, Barclay Damon LLP, Brencourt Advisors LLC, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, Confide, Datorama (A Saleforce Company), Duff Capital Advisors LP, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), International Asset Management (IAM), Lek Securities, McGivney, Kluger & Cook PC, Mizuho Bank, Morgan Stanley, Neuberger Berman, New York City Police Pension Fund, NYSE Euronext/SIAC, Paulson & Co. Inc., TAIB Bank, TV Japan and Yext.
Most recently, in 2019, Moran represented Yext for its new headquarters at 61 Ninth Avenue (142,000 square feet). He also represented the growing technology company for many other locations around the world, including at One Madison Avenue (95,000 square feet), Chelsea Market (28,000 square feet), 1101 Wilson Boulevard (43,000 square feet) and United Kingdom House at 2 Great Titchfield Street (15,000 square feet).
In 2011, Moran was appointed to Newmark’s Young Leadership Council, an honor that was extended based on extraordinary achievement and contribution to the firm’s success. As a member of the Young Leadership Council, Moran mentors junior brokers, leads business development programs and advises the firm’s executive operating committee on brokerage initiatives.
In 2006, Moran was awarded Newmark’s Junior Broker of the Year, which goes to the firm’s top producing broker with three years or less of experience.
Moran is an active member of The Browning School Alumni Council as well as Northwestern University’s Regional Council and Leadership Circle. He has also served on the Young Leaders Council for Boy & Girls Harbor and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
