Jack Box is one of the industry’s most respected commercial real estate practitioners. Recognized as a creative, highly professional leader and broker, he has earned the respect of his peers in Colorado and throughout North America. Mr. Box was appointed as regional chairman for Newmark Denver in January 2013.
Prior to his current role, from 1988 through 2012, Mr. Box served as president and chief executive officer of a thriving Denver-based brokerage operation, and was largely responsible for its expansion into the largest privately held commercial real estate company in Colorado. During his tenure, two new independent operating divisions, Apartment Realty Advisors and Westfield Company, were added to the company’s commercial brokerage, consulting and property management businesses. Additionally, as one of the founders of the ONCOR International commercial real estate network, Mr. Box cultivated peer relationships nationally, which later proved crucial to areas of Newmark’s market expansion.
With a strong commitment to and involvement in Denver’s continued growth, Mr. Box, championed the formation of The Greater Denver Corporation to spur economic growth following the 1980s oil bust. This endeavor culminated in the Colorado Convention Center and Denver International Airport, and the creation of more than 190,000 jobs for the metro Denver region over a seven-year span. In 1993, Mr. Box’s governance was instrumental in the achievement of World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II, bringing unparalleled international exposure to Denver on its largest single event ever.
Mr. Box has been honored several times throughout his career for his outstanding achievements. He was recognized as honorary dean for 2002 by the University of Denver Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. In 2001, he was awarded the 2000 NAIOP President’s Award for contributions to the real estate community. Earlier in his career, Mr. Box was recognized four times by the Denver Board of REALTORS® as the recipient of the top commercial sales award for achieving the highest personal sales volume in the Denver area. Mr. Box’s outstanding success in commercial real estate is the result of carefully cultivated relationships with clients and a high degree of integrity and business ethics.
Mr. Box serves on the board of directors of Century Communities Inc., and is actively involved in the community serving on numerous charitable boards. Notably, he is the past board chair and currently serves as a life trustee for Regis University, and serves on the board of directors of the National Crime Prevention Council.
