John Ward is a Vice Chairman based in Newmark’s New York City office where he specializes in the origination of a wide range of debt products for multifamily and other commercial assets nationwide, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, CMBS, life company, banks, preferred equity/mezzanine and bridge loan executions. With more than three decades of commercial real estate development, valuation and debt origination experience, he has placed and structured over $15 billion in capital through varying executions and capital structures for an array of property types. In addition to multifamily, Ward has extensive experience in manufactured housing having closed over $5 billion in this asset class alone.
Ward joined Newmark after working as a regional manager at KeyBank, leading his team to originate $2.5 billion in debt products during his tenure. He also spent time at Rialto, Five Mile Capital, Bank of America, Citi, Barclays, GE Capital and Bear Stearns. Throughout his career, Ward has consistently ranked as a top producer at all the shops where he has worked, and he is known for skillfully executing deals and providing exceptional customer service.
