Lucas Lugo joined Newmark in 2014, bringing with him extensive experience in public sector leasing. Currently serving as a Managing Director at the Sacramento office, Lucas specializes in State office leasing across California and agency representation.
Prior to joining Newmark, Lugo worked for the California Department of General Services from 2007. As a real estate leasing officer in Southern California and the Sacramento regions, he successfully completed significant transactions for the state. Lucas oversaw all aspects of state leasing, from identifying client needs and available space to lease negotiations and document composition. His expertise in state requirements and processes earned him the prestigious “Director’s Award” for outstanding performance. Throughout his career, Lucas has successfully completed over 2.0 million square feet of internal transactions throughout California.
Drawing on his extensive experience in state leasing, Lugo now provides State Lessors with a deeper understanding of the process. He assists in obtaining new state tenancy, renewing existing tenants, and navigating the state’s build-to-suit process. By helping state Lessors comprehend the State’s motivations and requirements for different types of facilities, such as field offices, back offices, or headquarters, Lucas ensures proper alignment of Lessor expectations and successful deal completion.
