With more than 20 years of corporate real estate experience Marina Cury serves as president of Newmark Brazil. Marina has worked with national construction and real estate development companies as well as multinationals from the real estate services sector. She will oversee the extension of Newmark’s global platform, including its valuation, appraisal, acquisitions, consulting, site selection, project and property management services, to local, regional, and multinational clients throughout Brazil. Marina’s most relevant skills are to develop new business and cross selling across all service lines.
Prior to joining Newmark Brazil, Marina worked in the Brazil office of Cushman & Wakefield from May 1999, when it began operations, to June 2013. She held positions of increasing responsibility until August 2008, when she became a statutory director and board member. During her tenure, she built and managed a team of 42 professionals, created a business strategy to increase company’s market share and revenues in Brazil. From 2009 to 2012, gross revenue from tenant representation and retail services grew 95% and 70%, respectively, while agency leasing revenues shot up 1400%. In 2005, as an interim managing director in the Argentina office, Ms. Cury led the local office team to its best results in the company’s history.
Before Cushman & Wakefield, Marina was a finance analyst with Banco Patente S/A, from April 1998 to May 1999 and also worked with Cury Emprendimentos and Construtora Boghosian, both construction and development companies.
Education
Marina is a civil engineer graduated from Universidade Mackenzie, in Sao Paulo with specialization in business administration at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP), also in Sao Paulo.
