Mark Baziak joined Newmark in 2013 as a senior managing director in the firm’s Newport Beach office. An accomplished retail landlord representative, Mr. Baziak specializes in landlord leasing and tenant dispositions, as well as development and sales. While his primary geographic focus is on Southern California, Mr. Baziak spearheads several national accounts for prominent landlords. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Baziak works with landlords to develop highly strategic plans to optimally position and market their assets. Mr. Baziak effectively forges strategic relationships with national and regional tenants to maximize the leasing or sale of his client’s properties.
Over a distinguished career that has spanned multiple decades, Mr. Baziak has earned the reputation as an esteemed retail landlord representative with a wealth of expertise on the current real estate landscape. He has been interviewed and regularly quoted in several prestigious media outlets including CNBC, the Associated Press and The Orange County Register, among many others.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Baziak worked as the director of retail leasing for Collier’s International, where he was named their No. 1 retail broker in Southern California in 2012, and national chairman of the Retail Landlord Committee in 2013. Previously, he served as a senior vice president based out of Grubb & Ellis’ Orange County office where he was consistently recognized as a top producer. Mr. Baziak was named Grubb & Ellis’s No. 1 retail broker in the nation in 2010, and for a 10-year period between 2001 and 2011, he was named one of the top three retail brokers in the nation. As a top producer, he achieved the high honor of becoming a member of the President’s Council, and was a managing member of the Retail Executive Committee.
Mr. Baziak is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), as well as National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Association of Corporate Real Estate Centers (ACRE).
Education
Mr. Baziak graduated from Point Loma University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Communication. He then attended Western States Law School, where he took courses to enhance his real estate knowledge in the fields of property law and contract law.
