Mark Gallagher

Mark Gallagher joined Newmark in 2018 as an Executive Managing Director in the firm’s Vancouver office, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in the seniors housing sector. As a consultant and sales representative, Gallagher has been involved in billions of dollars of successful transactions involving seniors housing. Since joining Newmark, Gallagher has been growing Newmark’s Canadian team and has been an active member of the firm’s international seniors housing team. Gallagher has established a pattern of high performance production and has received numerous awards for achievement driven by a client-first business model.

Gallagher attends numerous seniors housing conferences, often as a presenter, including the BCSLA Conference and the Canadian Seniors Housing Symposium. He also co-chairs the Western Canada Seniors Housing Symposium and attends the NIC Regional Conferences in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Recently, Gallagher attended the Care and Retirement Living Conference in London, England.

Years of networking within the industry, together with the experience gained by personally owning an independent living home, have given Gallagher a comprehensive understanding of the senior housing sector, including the financial and strategic reasons why a purchaser may be willing to stretch beyond their comfort zone. Gallagher has also established meaningful relationships with appraisers, lenders and other third parties, which can significantly impact the outcome of a transaction and provide consulting advice.
