As Senior Vice President, Property Management, Matt Duthie is responsible for the oversight and growth of Newmark’s management portfolio in New York and the implementation of best practices, policies and procedures that maximize the value of his clients’ real estate assets. He provides expert knowledge in management and operations, including expense reduction, innovative resources, procurement and forward-thinking property operations and staffing. Duthie is also responsible for business development to maximize market share and profitability for the region.
Duthie brings more than 33 years of commercial real estate management experience to his position. He most recently served as a Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was charged with leading the firm’s Property Management Group in New York City, overseeing a 15 million-square-foot office portfolio. Previously, Duthie was an Executive Vice President responsible for property management and construction at Ruben Companies.
Earlier, Duthie was Senior Vice President, Co-Director of Reckson Associates’ Manhattan division, where he was responsible for the start-up and integration of the company’s Manhattan division and handled the daily operations of its 6 million-square-foot portfolio of Class A office property in the city. Duthie was also actively involved in all due diligence for Reckson Associates’ acquisitions in New York.

Education
Duthie holds a Master’s degree in real estate from New York University as well as two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Environmental Science from Queens College at the City University of New York and another in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York. He also received a certification in construction management from the Real Estate Institute at New York University and is certified as a Real Property Administrator (RPA) by the Building Owners and Managers Institute.
