Michael is a leader of Retail Occupier Services (ROS), a specialty practice within Newmark that outsources the functions typically aggregated inside a retailer’s real estate department:

ROS is Newmark’s answer for retailers, regardless of size or industry, looking for a better way to optimize their store portfolios. Whether the objective is growth, contraction, or simply wringing economy out of the existing fleet, ROS customizes processes and technology tools to drive integration and value to global retail occupiers.
Michael is responsible for the strategic and operational initiatives of ROS, which, on an annual basis, develops dozens of predictive models, opens over 4M square feet of new stores; administers, reconciles and audits portfolios totaling in excess of 19k leases and 100M sf; and renews, restructures or disposes of thousands of leases.
Michael is a process management executive with over 20 years of retail real estate and business process outsourcing experience at a global level. With proven expertise in strategic planning, organization effectiveness, change management, collaboration and IT integration, Michael has represented some of the top national retail brands over the last two decades.
Michael started his career in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) space at Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt) in the late 1990s. Over the course of seven years, he ascended from analyst to account leadership inside M&A practice group for several global, multi-service, BPO accounts with direct line accountability for IT, quality assurance, call-center, fulfillment and shared service/vendor management in the U.S. and India for Fortune 100 clients.
In 2005, Michael left consulting to become a broker at Mid-America Real Estate Corp., a Chainlinks Company. There Michael represented some of the top national retailers in the country in their Midwest expansion efforts. Seeking to get back into consulting, Michael joined Grubb & Ellis in 2009 and co-created the firm’s retail services consultancy, now Retail Occupier Services at Newmark.
