As a Senior Managing Director with Newmark, Michael Paster specializes in the representation of both landlords and tenants across New York City.
Paster has many prominent landlord clients, including ATCO, Douglaston Development, Edward J. Minskoff Equities, George Comfort and Sons, Jamestown LP, Nuveen Real Estate, Pan Am Equities, Pontegadea, Rockfeld Group, GDS Development, The Winter Organization, USAA and The Witkoff Group. In addition, Paster has negotiated numerous deals in New York City with well-known landlords such as Hines, Related, Marx Realty, SL Green, Tishman Speyer, Vornado, and The Durst Organization.
On the tenant side of his business, Paster works with well-known retailers in the New York City market, including Ethan Allen, Express, CAVA, Barnes & Noble, Paper Source, La Colombe, Lids, Nimbus Kitchen, Pret a Manger, Sally Beauty, Tacombi, UpWest and Vista Hermosa.
Paster successfully negotiated more than 40 leases on behalf of Pret A Manger and 5 leases on behalf of Sally Beauty. He also helped relocate Ethan Allen’s NYC flagship location from 1010 Third Avenue to 685 Lexington Avenue and Barnes & Noble’s Upper East location from 150 East 86th Street to 1550 Third Avenue. Additionally, Paster recently executed two Express Edit leases at 129 Fifth Avenue and 514 Broadway, as well as a 30,000 square foot lease on behalf of Vista Hermosa at Nightingale Properties “The Whale” in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
On behalf of landlords, Paster leased 35,000 square feet to Crate & Barrell at 881 Broadway to serve as a relocation of their Flagship location in Manhattan. He helped renew Barnes & Noble’s 34,536 square foot lease at 555 Fifth Avenue and J. Crew’s 27,000 square foot lease at 91 Fifth Avenue; leased over 7,000 Square feet at 113 University Place to P.F. Chang’s; 5,250 square feet at 2555 Broadway to Citibank; 4,616 square feet at 414 West 14th Street to The Calzedonia Group; over 10,000 square feet to Chick-fil-A, Nuts Factory, Paris Baguette and Grabstein’s Bagels at 700 Sixth Avenue; 6,272 square feet to Lululemon at 201 East 86th Street and 4,700 SF to Lalo at 0 Bond Street AKA 670 Broadway.
Paster is currently focused on leasing nearly 33,076 square feet at 201 East 86th Street on behalf of Nuveen; 37,684 square feet at 734 Lexington Avenue and 14,043 square feet at 366 Madison Avenue on behalf of Pontegadea; 9,000 square feet at 156 Fifth Avenue on behalf of the HRC Corporation, and 20,806 square feet at 63 Madison Avenue on behalf of George Comfort and Sons and Jamestown LP.
Paster joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a retail real estate brokerage based in New York City. He began his real estate career with RKF in 2013 as a canvasser.

Education
Paster earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics with a concentration in corporate strategy from Vanderbilt University. He is currently attending New York University in pursuit of his master’s degree in real estate finance.
