Michael Wiener is the President of ExcessSpace, a Newmark company. Wiener is responsible for all aspects of the group’s business activities, including strategic initiatives, new business development and day-to-day operations of its business lines, including transaction services.
Founded by Wiener in 1992 as ExcessSpace, a Newmark company, provides portfolio optimization for retailers offering site selection, relocation, disposition, lease restructuring and lease renewal services.
Under Wiener’s leadership, ExcessSpace, a Newmark company, has grown into a leading North American service provider by implementing comprehensive and creative solutions tailored to the needs of each client. During his stewardship, Wiener has cultivated highly developed processes that have culminated in the completion of over 60,000 transactions. GCS Retail Solutions has been retained by over 200 national and regional retailers.
An industry influencer, Wiener is regularly interviewed to inform retail-related articles that have appeared in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Shopping Centers Today.
