Mitchell is part of the senior leadership team for Newmark’s South Florida group and has had for the past thirty-six years a long storied successful career representing many of the largest and most notable transactions throughout the Tri-County market.
Mitchell commenced his business career in South Florida on the real estate development side followed by joining Lennar Corporation’s mortgage company subsidiary Universal American Mortgage Company as the Director of Secondary Marketing. During his tenure he managed a $250 million loan portfolio which included the responsibility of hedging, selling, or packing loans into mortgage-backed securities and/or tax advantaged builder bonds. Following these stints Mitchell opted to relocate back to his hometown of Montreal, Quebec to enter the commercial real estate sector until Miami beckoned again and the South Florida area has remained home ever since.
Mitchell specializes in South Florida and multi-market representation for office and industrial users having represented companies throughout the U.S., Latin America, and Canada. His practice is tied to integrating a client’s core business to real estate and ensuring that they are well educated to the demands of landlords to then equalize his clients’ negotiating leverage and effectuate the best real estate strategy and ensure the best tenant or user outcome. Recognized in South Florida as a hard driving negotiator, Millowitz uses business intelligence tools to drive terms most beneficial for his clients while ensuring that the myriad of “hidden lease costs” or property/land/building and development issues are exposed and eliminated. Cost savings, speed to market/revenue enhancement, workplace solutions, financial structure, multi-market strategy and portfolio management are integrated and utilized (as is applicable) in his practice.
Mitchell has been recognized by Newmark as the Number One office producer in the Southeast region, a Power Broker by media outlet(s) Costar, and has been the recipient for the top deal of the year by South Florida Business Journal.
